For a growing number of adolescents and young adults, unplanned pregnancy, single parenting, and troubled relationships derail personal goals. Love Notes 4.1 Optimal Health Sexual Delay (SD) was created for this vulnerable audience, some already pregnant or parenting. In 13 lessons, they discover—often for the first time—how to make wise choices about relationships, delaying sexual activity until adulthood, pregnancy, partnering, and more.
Updated in Spring 2025, this version includes the most recent YRBS stats along with existing topics important to today’s youth, such as sex trafficking prevention, technology in relationships, navigating relationships in the digital age, online porn, sexual assault, consent—and their impact on relationships. Love Notes 4.1 SD still includes the evidence-based content plus supplemental materials, which allow facilitators to go deeper on topics that are meaningful to young people.
Love Notes 4.1 SD aligns with all Executive Orders on DEI and gender and the OPA memo on developmental appropriateness (i.e, does not normalize teen sex). TPP grantees working with participants over the age of 18 may use the Love Notes 4.1 CSE version. If you are not using federal funding to implement Love Notes and wish to use a sexual risk avoidance version, then we recommend using Love Notes 4.0 SRA.
