Abstract
Research has shown that when young people learn to overcome the effects of trauma and toxic stress, they can actually heal their brains. The Mind Matters curriculum increases people’s ability to self-regulate, self-soothe, and more fully participate in other skill-building classes.
In 12 one-hour lessons for groups that can be delivered in shorter blocks or 21 one-on-one sessions for use with individuals and families by paraprofessionals, Mind Matters helps participants cultivate simple practices that can heal their brains, their health, and their lives.
